Principal

Angel King
 
Mrs. King joined Licking Heights Local Schools as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in July, 2013. Earlier in her career she held the position as Curriculum Supervisor and School Improvement Facilitator with the Athens Meigs Educational Service Center and State Support Team 16. Prior to her employment at the Athens Meigs ESC, she served as the Federal Programs and Special Education Coordinator as well as Race to the Top and High Schools That Work Coordinator at Sciotoville Community Schools.

Mrs. King earned her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Rio Grande. She holds current educational licenses as Superintendent, Principal grades 5-12 and Integrated Social Studies Grades 7-12. She was named the Buckeye Council of History Education Teacher of the Year for Local History in 2009, a Gilder Lehrman Scholar in 2008, recipient of The Arthur and Rochelle Belfer National Conference for Educators Scholarship at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum 2007 and has served as an Ohio Historical Society Think History Master Teacher since 2011.

Mrs. King is also a state trainer for many educational initiatives such as the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES), Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES), and Ohio’s New Learning Standards and is a Resident Educator Mentor Trainer. She has also served as a Region 16 Value Added Leader and as a facilitator at the Connecting the Dots Conference.

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Brandi Wade has spent the past 20 years at Licking Heights Local Schools in a vatiety of roles, including literacy coach, kindergarten, first and second grade teacher, elementary assistant principal and principal, and now in the role of intermediate assistant principal.
 
Mrs. Wade received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Middle Childhood Education for The Ohio State University, followed by two Master's Degrees, the first in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Scranton and the second from Concordia University in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Wade holds licenses for Elementary Teacher K-8th, Principal PK-6. She has been a past recipient of the Dow Excellence in Education Award and has been and is currently a featured master teacher in the college textbook An Introduction to Education: Choosing Your Teaching Path that is utilized in colleges and universities across the United States for pre-service teachers.

Instructional Materials

Any person or group, having a legitimate interest in the operations of Licking Heights Local Schools, has the right to present a request, suggestion, or complaint concerning the educational program or the operations of the district. Requests must be put in writing and should be initially addressed to the building principal. Members of the public may also inspect instruction materials by requesting an appointment with the building principal. If the request, suggestion, or complaint relates to instructional materials such as books, textbooks, or other instructional aids used in the District, the information should include author, title, and sections objected to. This information will be forwarded to the district office and reviewed by an administrative committee.
