Greetings from Mrs. Greene, the elementary school counselor at Licking Heights West! I have been with the district since 2015 and I have worked as a school counselor since I graduated from the Ohio State University with a master's degree in Counseling Education in 2001. As the school counselor, my goal is to promote positive student development in academic, social/personal and career domains by providing the following services:
- Classroom guidance lessons to K-4 classrooms on a variety of topics such as: identifying emotions, calming strategies, practicing social skills to be a friend, handling conflict and managing stress
- Small group counseling including friendship lunch groups, changing family and grief groups
- Short-term individual student counseling and support
- Coordinating Response to Intervention (RTI) meetings which provide students' academic support
- Collaborating with staff, parents and administration
- Coordinating 504 Plans
- Organizing building testing for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades
- Advising our 4th Grade Hornet Helpers
Please reach out at any time during the school year if you would like to discuss your child's needs or if you have concerns. I am so grateful to be working with West's wonderful children!
