Principal Dawn McCloud [email protected]

Dawn McCloud is a dedicated and visionary educational leader.  Education has always been at the core of Dawn’s journey. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Capella University.

Prior to coming to Licking Heights, Mrs. McCloud spent her entire teaching and administrative career in Reynoldsburg City Schools. Her teaching career started as a long-term substitute, she taught 6th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at Hannah J. Ashton Middle School, and then was an instructional coach for middle level buildings. Her administrative career began as the principal of the Health Sciences and Human Services STEM Academy where she empowered students to be active participants in their own education through problem-based learning initiatives where students applied their knowledge to real-world problems. She was the Waggoner Road Middle School principal where she developed pathways to connect middle school learning to high school career pathways. She also spent two years as a district office administrator supporting deeper learning initiatives, to include: standards-based equitable grading practices and performance-based assessments.

Her extensive academic background, combined with her years of experience in various educational roles, has equipped her with a deep understanding of the educational landscape and the ability to implement innovative strategies that drive student success.
