WELCOME to fifth grade! My name is Mrs. Holly Jayes and I will be your child’s ELA and Science teacher for the 2018-2019 school year! This will be my 29th year of teaching students in the intermediate grades and I have as much enthusiasm as I do experience. This year I will be teaming with Mrs. Hemmert, your child's Math amd Social Studies teacher. I am excited to get this year underway and I look forward to working with you and your child.
I have worked very hard to ensure that the lessons I have developed will be interesting, engaging, and interactive. The lessons will be based on the newly adopted Ohio Standards which will help your child achieve success on state tests and at the same time foster a love for learning. Of course, I need your help and support in order to be truly successful. As you know, school is a three-part responsibility with parent, child, and teacher making up equal pieces of the pie.
