I am so excited to be your School Psychologist for the 2016-2017 school year. Although I am new to the Licking Heights district, I have been a School Psychologist since 1994. Possessing a passion for serving students and their families, I desire to ensure your student reaches his or her fullest potential at West Elementary School.
Obtaining my doctorate in Educational Leadership from Ashland University in 2009, I hold dual licenses in Pupil Personnel Administration and School Psychology. Additionally, I hold a BA in psychology from Case Western Reserve University; and a MA in Clinical Psychology with a Speciality in School Psychology, from Cleveland State University. While my initial work experience as a School Psychologist was in Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties, I most recently worked as a School Psychologist and Special Education Supervisor in the Lakewood Local Schools and Columbus City Schools.
My awards and accomplishments include Educator of the Year in 2006 from the Lorain County Urban League and a nomination for "Dissertation of the Year" within the American Education Research Association for my work on a Highly Effective Dropout Prevention program for Urban Students.
I have been married to my husband, Dr. Nathaniel Russell, for 25 years, and am the proud mother of four children whom have taught me to cherish the learning differences of all students. My hobbies include singing, writing, reading, and walking in nature parks.
I look forward to working with you and your students this school year. Please feel free to reach out to me if I may be of any support.
