Men's and Women's Chorus:
The Men's and Women's Chorus' are designed to provide students with an opportunity to perform a variety of music, develop musical literacy, and to help them appreciate, analyze and evaluate the impact of musical experiences in their lives.
Advanced Women's/Advanced Mixed Ensembles:
The Advanced Ensembles are auditioned ensembles designed to provide students with an opportunity to perform a variety of challenging music. The emphasis will be on the performance of four to eight part a capella music and a variety of musical styles. Students will execute individual and ensemble capacity of excellent intonation and tone production.
Introduction to Music Theory
Introduction to Music Theory will introduce basic concepts of music theory to students. The goal of this course is to improve students’ performance, aural, analytical, and composition skills. Music Theory is a fast paced course that touches on aspects of melody, harmony, texture, form, musical analysis, and composition. This course also includes an aural section of sight-singing, melodic and harmonic dictation, and listening examples. All students enrolled in this course will be prepared to take AP Music Theory course in following school year.
AP Music Theory:
AP Music Theory will introduce advanced concepts of music theory to students. The goal of this course is to improve students’ performance, aural, analytical, and composition skills. Music Theory is an intensive, fast paced course that touches on aspects of melody, harmony, texture, form, musical analysis, and composition. This course also includes an aural section of sight-singing, melodic and harmonic dictation, and listening examples. All students enrolled in this course will be prepared to take the Advanced Placement exam in the spring
Music Theater:
This course is designed for students who would like to deepen their appreciation. knowledge, and skills required for performing in a music theater production. Students will explore/perform various styles and techniques of singing, dancing, and acting as appropriate to musical theater.
