Recipients of this award are athletic trainers in good standing who meet the athletic training standards of the Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy/Athletic Trainers’ Board of Ohio. Winners have worked a minimum of five years in the state of Ohio and have made contributions to the athletes and athletics at the state, district, or national level.

Bortmas is a well-respected member of the Licking Heights community who recently receiving the district’s ‘Hornet Award.’ He was also appointed to the City of Pataskala’s Parks & Recreation Advisory Board this year.
