LHHS hires Fountain as varsity boys basketball coach
Licking Heights High School has hired Shaun Fountain as the new varsity boys basketball coach, pending approval by the Board of Education on June 18.

Fountain, a Licking Heights resident and former volunteer coach, has previously coached area AAU teams and at Lakeview Junior High in Pickerington. He will succeed Matt Faska, who is moving on from leading the Licking Heights Hornets after three years. Under Coach Faska, the Hornets twice finished as LCL-Buckeye runner-ups.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Fountain,” said Rita Pendexter, the assistant athletic director, Licking Heights High School. “He has a wealth of experience as a player and a coach, and we’re happy to have him on our team.”

Fountain is a USA basketball licensed coach and former player at the collegiate and professional level, finding success on teams at home and abroad. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, serving as a student assistant coach.
