OSU awarded athletic training services contract for Licking Heights
Licking Heights Local Schools is excited to announce a new partnership with The Ohio State University (OSU) for athletic training services.

As a result of our growing district and the need to provide services to middle and high school athletes, we released a Request for Proposals for athletic training services for the costs associated with what we would like to offer our students. Our athletic department identified the need to provide athletic trainers for middle and high school students on a full-time basis, as well as, a sports performance coach.

Through an intensive review process, we found OSU’s proposal aligned with our goal to provide more services for students at a more affordable rate. The Ohio State University will provide one full-time athletic trainer at our high school, one full-time athletic trainer at our middle school, and a sports performance coach that will work on conditioning, strength training and skill development with all athletes.

Additionally, student educational opportunities are readily available through programming at The Ohio State University’s facilities; other districts that currently utilize similar programs through OSU spoke highly of their provided services. Eric Bortmas has been offered a position to continue to serve as our athletic trainer, bringing continuity to a change that is a win-win for our district.

We look forward to our new partnership that will enhance athlete experiences while providing educational opportunities for our student body and community overall.
