A message of thanksgiving
A message from Dr. Philip Wagner

The older I become, the faster time seems to pass. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is already upon us, and that the school year is nearly half over. I am thankful for the collegial community we have at Licking Heights - for our fantastic students and staff and their accomplishments, and their supportive parents and families. I hope each and every one of you find time to relax and enjoy the holiday.

In my seven years serving Licking Heights Local Schools this has been by far my busiest year, especially with the scope of the high school building project. It’s an exciting time to be a hornet! No matter how busy I am, you won’t hear me complain because a failed levy in May, 2017 would have led to a very different outcome for our staff, students, and the community at large. I am thankful for the support of our voters and the partnerships we’ve developed with our surrounding cities and townships, including recent successes with economic development to help stabilize and protect the residential tax base. I’m thankful for the members of our Board of Education, and our community representatives who have jumped feet first into our building project committees.

As we move forward with our architecture firm (BSHM Architects) and our construction manager (Robertson Construction,) our building project will continue to take shape. I am excited to share the progress toward a new high school building for our community with you.

We are stronger together, and the future is bright at Licking Heights.
