Frequently Asked Questions

Licking Heights Enrollment — Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer Open Enrollment?
Yes. Open Enrollment is currently closed for the 2025-26 school year and will begin for the 2026-27 school year on April 1, 2026. Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2026. Families will be notified of decisions by June 30, 2026. If approved, parents must return the acceptance form within two weeks of notification to secure their child’s spot.

Do you offer school tours?
Yes—building availability varies. Contact your child’s school to request a tour or attend the Open House listed on our back-to-school schedule.

We don’t live in the district yet but we’re moving. Can we enroll?
Start the online pre-registration now and upload your purchase contract or signed lease showing your move-in/occupancy date. Students can begin once your lease has begun or you completed the appropriate affidavit.

What if my house is still under construction?
Complete the 90 Day purchasing a home Affidavit.

I moved but still live in the district—what should I do?
Update your address in PowerSchool Forms and upload new residency proofs. Transportation updates may take 3–5 school days to process.

What documents do I need to enroll?
—Student ID/Age: Birth Certificate, Permanent Resident Card, or I-9 (if applicable)
—Parent/Guardian ID: Driver’s license, State ID, Passport, Military ID, or Permanent Resident Card
—Residency: See “What counts as proof of residency?” below
—Health: Immunization record/medical record or exemption form
—Legal (if applicable): Custody, guardianship, foster, adoption, Grandparent POA (all pages, court-stamped)
—Name/status changes (if applicable): Marriage license, name change order, death certificate

What counts as proof of residency?
Provide TWO proofs:
First Proof (one): Mortgage/Deed or Lease (parent/guardian must be listed) or Residency Affidavit (with all required attachments)

Second Proof (one): Utility bill (Water/Gas/Electric/Sewer/Trash only), USPS change-of-address, Voter Registration, or current W-2/Paystub. Tip: Upload clear, legible copies. Originals may be requested for verification.

What if my child has special needs?
Upload any IEP, ETR, 504, service plans, or evaluation reports during enrollment. Our Student Services team will review and ensure services begin/continue without delay (“Child Find”).

How old must my child be to enroll in kindergarten?
Children must be 5 years old on or before September 30th of the school year. (If your child turns five after this date, ask about early entrance evaluation per Board policy.)

How can the school help my child learn English?
Complete Form C – Student Language during enrollment. We’ll provide a no-cost language screening and, if eligible, English Learner services. Interpreters and translated documents are available at no cost.

How will I get information once my child is enrolled?
You’ll receive a welcome email from our district registrar. You will also receive a notification from your student’s school on what to expect for their first day. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to the school once you receive the welcome email from the registrar.

Can the school help get my child to and from school?
All addresses in our district receive bus transportation. If you don’t need busing, submit the Opt-Out form; to start later, submit the Application for Bus Transportation (new rider). Routing changes can take 3–5 school days.

My child takes medicine during the day—what should I do?
Provide the district Medication Administration Form (signed by a healthcare provider and parent/guardian). Bring medication in the original, labeled container to the school office.

Where can I find information about school meals?
Menus and details are on the Food Services page. Breakfast is free for all K–12 students. Manage lunch accounts in MySchoolBucks. Need help with the Free/Reduced application? Call (740) 919-3111.

Does the school require uniforms or have a dress code?
No uniforms. See each school’s Student Handbook for the dress code.

What are the school’s hours?
Hours vary by building. Visit your school’s page for current start/dismissal times.

Is there a calendar with holidays and school breaks?
Yes—see the District Calendar for all key dates.

What if my family celebrates a holiday not on the calendar?
Submit a written request to your school. We work with families on religious/cultural observances and attendance accommodations per district policy.

What school supplies are needed for the first days?
K–8 grade-level supply lists are posted on each school’s Information & Directions page. High School does not publish a universal list—teachers will share class-specific needs.
