Licking Heights is honored to once again celebrate our servicemen and women during our annual school Veteran’s Day assemblies.
Each year, all schools K-12 coordinate a public ceremony of honor for local veterans and active service members. Students personally invite veterans in their lives to join them for the event, too. The formal program includes performances from school choirs and bands, speeches and poetry from students, remarks from special guests, and presentations from local organizations like the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Each school also holds a reception with refreshments and a time of fellowship for students and guests. Students give handwritten and hand drawn thank-you notes to guests as well.
Schools will recognize veterans at the following dates and times:
—Broad Peak Elementary: Fri., Nov. 8 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. (grades K-1); 2:15-2:45 p.m. (grades 2-4)
—Middle School: Mon., Nov. 11 from 8:00-10:00 a.m.
—Summit Station Intermediate: Tues., Nov. 12 from 8:00-10:00 a.m.
