South Student Wins River Round-Up Poster Contest
Eva Haylett with her award-winning poster.
Conservation and creativity are the perfect combination for Licking Heights South Elementary third grader Eva Haylett.

Eva is the elementary school winner for the Licking County Soil and Water Conservation District’s 2023 River Round-Up Poster Contest. Eva is the first student from Licking Heights to win this award.

The River Round-Up Poster Contest gives Licking County students the opportunity to design a poster advertising the Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual Licking River cleanup the Saturday after Labor Day. Three winners from across the county are chosen at the elementary, middle and high school level.

As a winner, Eva will receive an award of $100 and South Elementary will receive $500 to use for hands-on learning supplies for science classes. Eva will assist South Elementary Principal Kurt Scheiderer in choosing the materials purchased.
