In Memoriam: Hank the Therapy Dog
It is with a heavy heart that Licking Heights Local Schools announces the passing of Hank the Therapy Dog, a beloved furry friend and diligent therapy dog at Summit Station (Central) Intermediate.

The dog of retired Gahanna teacher Pam Rippl, Hank was frequently spotted in counselor Amber Krouse’s office, working with students as they processed grief, resolved behavioral issues, or managed the stress of the school day. He was a hardworking and compassionate Golden Retriever who positively impacted the lives of countless Heights students, serving five years alongside Krouse. He was highly skilled at understanding the emotions of students and responding to each unique situation with the energy and care it required.

Hank retired in 2022, enjoying his last years with plenty of love, treats, naps, and time spent with his family. His legacy will live on in his adopted brother Ollie, who started working with Krouse and her students during the 2022-23 school year.

We at Licking Heights thank Hank for his service to our students and wish his family comfort during this difficult time.
