My name is Renee Ayers and I have been teaching for 23 years. I grew up in Yellow Springs, Ohio. I am married and I have two children, Sidney, age 13, and Zach, age 12. My husband's name is Chris and he works in construction management. I have an identical twin sister, named Tara Rahm, who is a science teacher at Hanna Ashton Middle School in Reynoldsburg. I organize a "GREEN TEAM" every year at Licking Heights West to encourage students throughout the school to conserve natural resources. I dress up as a super hero called the "Green Hornet" to serve as the Green Team's mascot. ;-) In 2016, I won the Educator of the Year Award from Licking County Water and Soil Conservation District for my efforts at Licking Heights West with recycling, tree planting and environmetal student education. I was named Teacher of the Year two times in the past by my peers in LHEA (our teacher union). I graduated from Purdue University with my Bachelors Degree in 1995. Then, I graduated from the University of Dayton with a Master's Degree in 2001. I have been attending Ashland University and the University of Rio Grande for additional training/education since 2002. I enjoy playing soccer, coaching soccer, being a Girl Scout Leader, running, water skiing, snowboarding, scrapbooking, and reading in my spare time. This is my second year teaching 4th grade math and I am really looking forward to a new adventure. The thing I like the most about teaching at Licking Heights West is the diversity of the students and helping each student feel safe, accepted and part of our team. #Be A Gamechanger!!
