Alyson Wand has been teaching at Licking Heights for three years. Prior to teaching at Licking Heights West she taught preschool for 2 years at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, worked as the Early Childhood Ministry Coordinator at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, and taught third grade in Montgomery County, Virginia. Alyson graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. She completed her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction also at Virginia Tech. While at Tech Alyson competed and lettered in Cross Country and Track.
She has been happily married to Richard her high school sweetheart for 21 years and they have three children together. Her oldest son Justin is a Freshman at Ohio University where where he is studying athletic training and broadcast journalism. Her daughter Kayla is a Junior at Licking Heights High School where she is an honor student, plays softball and runs cross country. Her youngest son is an eighth grader at Licking Heights Central he is an honor student, a wrestler, and member of the cross country team .
Alyson is the high school girls track coach, high school, and middle school cross country coach. In her spare time she runs, quilts, and scrapbooks. She has completed five marathons, one triathlon, and eight half marathons.
