As the advisor of Power of the Pen, I have the pleasure of working with seventh and eighth grade authors. Every fall, Central's aspiring writers "audition" to join our Power of the Pen team. Eventually, the interested authors are dwindled down to a team comprised of 12-14 writers. This year's team is compromised of 6 exceptional seventh graders, and 8 incredible eighth graders.
Having competed in the district contest, in Ashville, along with the regional contest, in Chillicothe, Central has 6 eligible authors to compete in the state contest at The College of Wooster.
On May 21 and May 22, Alex Davis, Camryn Eck, Madison Ellcessor, Avery Huizinga, and Katie Lewis will represent Central in an attempt to garner state honors! Definitely stop back to check on their progress, and see what happens!
