Health Services

It is our mission to promote and provide opportunities for the health and well being of our staff members, students and community.

School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self management, self advocacy, and learning.

 - National Association of School Nurses

Student Well Being

Student well being is the responsibility of the staff. All staff members are familiar with emergency procedures such as, fire and tornado drills, and accident reporting procedures. Should a student be aware of any dangerous situation or accident, s/he must notify a staff member immediately.

Emergency Medical Authorization (EMA) Forms

The Board of Education has established a policy that every student must have an Emergency Medical Authorization (EMA) form completed and signed by his/her parent in order to participate in any activity off school grounds. This includes field trips, spectators trips, athletic and other extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
The Emergency Medical Authorization (EMA) form is available to every parent at the time of enrollment, as well opportunities to update their student(s) EMA through OneView annually. Failure to complete or update the form annually will jeopardize the student's educational program.

Perscribed and Over-the-Counter Medications

All prescribed and over-the-counter medications are to be delivered to the school clinic by an adult. The school health aide is available to discuss the procedures for medications and treatments, and will keep these orders on file in the clinic. No medications or medical treatments are to take place in school without the knowledge of the health aide.
