HIST 1151 is a survey of American History from the pre-contact era through the Civil War and Reconstruction. HIST 1151 places major emphasis on the relationships between historical events and the literature, art, music, major ideas, and popular culture that made up the American intellectual and social tradition. Students are expected to attend all class meetings listed in the syllabus and will be assess on their understanding of material from lectures and reading assignments in both required books.
Students should use their CSCC Blackboard accounts to access class discussions and other class materials.
