Principal Michelle Copeland 

Michelle Copeland joined Licking Heights Local Schools in 2018 as assistant principal at South Elementary. Mrs. Copeland has more than 20 years of experience in education, having served as an elementary and special education teacher, special education coordinator and dean of students. She has also worked as an education consultant at the Ohio Department of Education in the Office of Federal Programs and the Office of Exceptional Children.
 
Mrs. Copeland received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and her Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Youngstown State University. She holds an Ohio principal licensure for grades preK - 9 and Ohio teaching licenses in both elementary grades 1-8 and special education K-12.

Mrs. Wildenhaus joined Licking Heights School District in 2019, as an intervention specialist before becoming assistant principal of West Elementary. She spent most of her teaching career in Colorado teaching kindergarten and third grade as well as special education.  

Mrs. Wildenhaus holds an undergraduate degree from University of South Carolina, a Master’s Degree in curriculum and instruction from Sierra Nevada University and a Master’s of Educational Leadership from Adams State College. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Wildenhaus is passionate about children’s mental health. She has attended a 25 hour training session with well known child anxiety expert Lynn Lyons.  Outside of education, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family.
Instructional materials

Any person or group, having a legitimate interest in the operations of Licking Heights Local Schools, has the right to present a request, suggestion, or complaint concerning the educational program or the operations of the district. Requests must be put in writing and should be initially addressed to the building principal. Members of the public may also inspect instruction materials by requesting an appointment with the building principal. If the request, suggestion, or complaint relates to instructional materials such as books, textbooks, or other instructional aids used in the District, the information should include author, title, and sections objected to. This information will be forwarded to the district office and reviewed by an administrative committee.
