My name is Ana Ceballos and this is my first year teaching at Licking Heights. I started teaching science in Colombia (where I am from) seven years ago. In 2013, my family and I moved to Ohio because my husband started his PhD at Ohio State University. I went back to school in 2015 to earn my Masters in Science Education from Ohio State University as well.
It has been 4 years since we move to Ohio and even though I miss my beautiful country, I am forever grateful to have found such a supportive community as it is the Licking Heights Community.
I strongly encourage my students to appreciate the characteristics that make them unique thinkers. These characteristics become powerful teaching and learning tools not only for my students but for me too; they broaden my perspective and make me grow as an effective educator. I strongly value my students’ cultural heritage, as well as mine. These features create a learning environment where my students and myself can learn from each other and construct rapport as part of the community.
