Economics and Financial Literacy is a one semester course and is aligned to Ohio’s New Learning Standards. The course will begin by exploring the fundamentals that guide individuals and nations as they make choices about how to use limited resources to satisfy their wants, placing focus on micro and macroeconomic concepts, as well as the global economy. The second half of the semester will examine the ability of individuals to use knowledge and skills to manage limited financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial security. A heavy emphasis will be placed on preparing students for their immediate financial future and teaching skills that will be applicable in real-world situations.
