What are the hours for the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights?

Daily hours for the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Health Center is open all year.

How can I book an appointment at the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights?

Appointments may be scheduled by directly contacting the Health Center at (220) 564-7830.

How will payment work for the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights?

Payment of all deductibles, co-insurance and co-pays associated with your health plan is expected at the time of service. If you are unable to pay these balances, please discuss the circumstances with one of our business office personnel to establish an alternative payment plan. If you do not have insurance and are unable to pay for the services rendered, payment arrangements are acceptable.

What insurances do you accept?

The Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights accepts a wide variety of health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.

What services does the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights provide?

Health services focus on preventative care and include treatment for common illnesses. Mental health services provided by Behavioral Health Partners of Central Ohio (BHP) are also offered in the center. Both a mid-level provider and a behavioral health professional will be on-site during center hours.

The Health Center will include a laboratory on-site for point-of-care testing, such as hCG (pregnancy), urinalysis, strep, flu, RSV, COVID-19, and diabetic levels. Necessary vaccines for school are also available.

How much did creating the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights cost the school?

Since the Health Center was financed and staffed by Licking Memorial Health Systems, there was no cost to Licking Heights. The Health Center is operated entirely by Licking Memorial Health Systems, as they are leasing the space from Licking Heights.

Can community members use the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights?

Yes! Community members and families of students are able to schedule an appointment at the center. While community members are welcome to schedule, please note that students and staff of Licking Heights take scheduling priority.

Are same-day appointments available?

Same-day appointments are usually available at the Health Center, but students and staff of Licking Heights will always take priority in scheduling. Call (220) 564-7830 to see what appointments are available. Staff will do their best to get all patients the soonest available appointment.

How will parental consent for treatment work for Licking Heights students?

There will be two different consents for treatment that will need to be completed for students. The first consent will be from the school district and will be embedded in PowerSchool through the Emergency Medical Authorization form completed annually. Consent will be to receive care, share student information with Licking Memorial Hospital, and if you would like to have transportation as an option. The second form of consent will be directly through Licking Memorial Hospital prior to receiving care.

Does the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights take up classroom space in the high school?

No, the Health Center is in a vacant storage area in the high school that is not the appropriate size to accommodate classrooms or student academic space. The Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights does not impede on current or future classroom space.

Does the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights replace in-school clinics and nurses’ offices?

No, the Health Center does NOT be replacing school-based health clinics or school nursing staff. Instead, the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights works cooperatively with the district to handle basic diagnostic and treatment needs beyond what a school-based clinic can do.

My student goes to a school other than the high school. How will they get to the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights if they need to go during school hours?

For students attending other buildings in the district, transportation can be provided by the Licking Heights transportation department if a parent or guardian is unable to transport. The parent or guardian would still be allowed to participate in the visit either via digital communication or by phone. This will allow access to healthcare immediately, while still allowing the parent or guardian to participate in the appointment.

What security measures are in place for the Licking Memorial Health Center at Licking Heights?

For the wellbeing of all students, staff, and community members, the Health Center strictly adheres to these required safety practices:

—Each external patient must be admitted into the Health Center through a secure, locked door
—Each external patient is required to scan their driver's license with Raptor, the district’s instant background check system, immediately upon arrival for their appointment
—Only Licking Heights students and staff have access to the school – no community members can access the high school through the Health Center
—Only students and staff can enter the Health Center through the internal school entrance, and they must be admitted by Health Center staff
—Students, staff, and community members will be treated in separate, designated sides and rooms of the Health Center
—Health Center staff follow all school drills and procedures – for example, if the high school has a fire drill, Health Center staff follow Licking Heights procedures for the fire drill.
