Reporting Suicidal Ideation
Licking Heights Schools cares deeply for the students, staff and community members within our district. In 2020, suicide was among the top 9 leading causes of death for people ages 10-64 and was the second leading case of death of for people ages 10-14 and 25-34, according to the CDC. The district has partnered with the I Am A Warrior Against Suicide non-profit organization which is a non profit organization that helps communities and school districts with suicidal ideation support. The goal of their organization is to display signs at every school, nationwide that contains the national suicide prevention phone number and the their text number.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
NAMI is the nation's largest mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for millions of American's impacted by mental health illness. The Licking Heights local schools have partnered with NAMI to bring Ending the Silence programing to our students in grades 7-12 which focuses on suicide prevention.
