Advanced Science:
This class is set up to offer students' 7th grade and 8th grade content in an expedited time to ready them for a HS physics coarse in their 8th grade year. Students' whom take this class will learn all 7th and 8th grade content and be able to achieve a passing score on the end of year state test as an 8th grader. Topics include all three branches of science and an in depth look into physics basics.
7th Grade Science:
This class is a traditional 7th grade science class. It includes all three branches of science as well. However, does not have an accelerated rate and includes only 7th grade content.
In all of my classes I include lessons that incorporate teamwork, engineering, hands-on, inquiry based learning approaches. I tend to be a facilitator rather than a lecturer. I feel it is important for students to engage in their own learning processes and find knowledge when possible rather than be told it in a traditional way.
